Our history

Beyond Braids was born in Southern Oregon from a simple yet profound reality: many people in the African American and Latino communities couldn't find a place where they could get their hair braided with the respect, care, and skill that this tradition deserves. Its founder understood that this need wasn't just aesthetic, but also emotional and cultural.

This project began with the intention of creating a safe space where these stories could continue to be woven together. A space where everyone felt seen, heard, and supported. Here, hair is not just hair: it's memory, identity, and a way of accepting who we are.
